Our Sourcing

What you feed your family starts with a decision you don't see: who raised it, what it ate, how it was handled before it ever reached a box. We make that decision carefully, because you shouldn't have to make it every week yourself.

Every cut we deliver is sourced through a single premium butcher partner — a name trusted by over 200,000 customers across the United States, covered by Food & Wine, USA Today, and featured alongside the country's top culinary voices. They don't aggregate commodity protein. They source it the way a serious butcher should, because the people eating it are someone's family.

Beef

Sourced from the world's best cattle programs — USDA Prime and G1 Certified Choice, 100% grass-fed, and authentic Japanese A5 Wagyu from Miyazaki and Kobe. Every cut is hand-trimmed, not machine-processed. Dry-aged where it improves the cut.

Poultry

All-natural, pasture-raised, air-chilled chicken and duck. Non-GMO. No antibiotics, no added hormones. Air-chilling — not water-chilling — means no water weight and better texture. The same birds serious restaurant kitchens use.

Pork

Heritage and Iberico breeds. Iberico de Bellota — the acorn-fed Spanish breed known as the Wagyu of pork — is available alongside domestic Heritage Duroc. Raised on pasture, not in industrial facilities.

Seafood

Sustainably sourced. Atlantic and Ora King salmon, wild-caught yellowfin tuna, Pacific black cod, dayboat dry scallops, wild African tiger prawns. Sushi-grade where applicable. Cold-chain from water to your door.

Lamb

Domestic Midwestern lamb, humanely raised, non-GMO. Hand-cut to order.

The standard we hold every box to

  • No hormones added
  • No antibiotics
  • Ethically sourced from farms with traceable supply chains
  • Hand-cut by butchers, not portioned by machines
  • Vacuum-sealed immediately after cutting to preserve freshness
  • Cold-chain delivery — insulated, temperature-controlled from our facility to your door

Why this matters for your household

The difference between commodity protein and what arrives in your Steady Provision box is not marginal. It's the difference between what a chicken was fed, how a steer was raised, and whether the person who cut your order knew what they were doing. Those are the meals your family eats on an ordinary Tuesday, not just the ones you plan for. We chose one partner. We chose the best one we could find. Your family eats the result.

Ethical farming, not just ethical marketing

We partner with a single sourcing partner rather than aggregating from multiple commodity suppliers. That means tighter quality control, fewer intermediaries, and a supply chain we can actually stand behind when you ask us about it. Our partner has spent over a decade building relationships with farms that raise animals the way animals should be raised — on pasture, with space, without shortcuts.

Sustainability in practice

Choosing a subscription model over single-occasion purchasing is itself a more efficient way to buy protein — less packaging waste per pound, fewer individual shipments, more predictable demand that reduces over-production. We're building toward expanded sustainability commitments as we grow. For now, we focus on sourcing right, packing efficiently, and delivering honestly.

The standard we don't compromise on

Every box must be something we'd feed our own families. That's not a tagline — it's the filter every sourcing decision goes through, before anything ships to yours.
